About the Department

Welcome to the Department of Mathematics at Maharaja Nandakumar Mahavidyalaya (A Govt. aided college affiliated to Vidyasagar University) established in 2008. The Department of Mathematics is committed to impart high quality education in Mathematics at undergraduate level. The mission of the department is: to transform young people to be competent and motivated professionals with sound theoretical and practical knowledge, to serve for peoples and in industry, to motivate the self-creative thinking process to give new ideas or new model (theoretically or practically) for the betterment of our nation. In library, there are more than 100+ books and journals of Mathematics of national and international publishers. A good number of qualified and experienced teachers are currently serving in the department and few more faculty members will join very soon. Our faculties regularly interact with students and discuss problem solving, present new ideas and arrange tutorials. The department is progressing, in teaching, learning and applications, rapidly.

History of the Department

Currently the department of Mathematics is offering degree of B.Sc. in Mathematics General & Honors (opening soon). A large number of students have been awarded B.Sc. in Mathematics degree consistently every year. The strength of students numbers are increasing every year. Our passed out students got admission in various reputed institutes for M. Sc. degree. The Department has a large number of student capacities with modern class rooms, seating arrangements, computers and library facilities.
