About the Department

Department of Geography in Maharaja Nandakumar Mahavidyalaya is a centre of excellence in academic field. Since its inception the department has produced talented students. The Department possesses well equipped laboratory and class rooms. Advanced teaching in terms of smart room classes and practical hands on training are also provided in the department. Laboratory is equipped with up to date maps and instruments.
 

History of the Department

The department was established in 2008 under the efficient guidance of Sipra Kar and Abhijit Kar. In the year 2017, Shreya Bandyopadhyay has joined the Department as a Full time faculty and took charge as HOD. Under her successful guidance, the Departmental course structure has shifted from yearly system to Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). At present the department has six teachers posing interest in different sub-disciplines on Geography.
