Department of Political Science

The Department of Political Science begins its journey from the very beginning of the establishment of the college since 2007. As a subject of dynamic discipline, this premier Department embraces the youths of vibrant zeal and having knowledge about the subject and keen interest in the area of politics, social sciences and related disciplines with sound academic record apropos. The Department offers only General course till date and proposes to offer Honours course from the session 2019-2020 with prior permission from the Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal and the Vidyasagar University, Midnapur to which the college is affiliated. The Department has two approved post of Assistant Professor. Presently the Department has one senior faculty in substantive post working in the capacity of Associate Professor and a Guest Teacher of dynamic character and also intends to appoint two more faculties for smooth functioning of the Department. Like other discipline, the Department offers CBCS course in semester system.

Vision

The vision of the Department of Political Science of Maharaja Nandakumar Mahavidyalaya is to inculcate and develop the personality traits of individual students in dealing with community feelings, needs and ethos of the society along with the passion for developing scientific and technological temperament in knowledge building of the day. The Department also aspires to achieve success rates of students in the pragmatic field of politics catalytic to transparent and noble history of mankind as well as to sustain the highest standard of excellence in the field of teaching and learning.

Mission

The mission of the Department of Political Science is to achieve success rates enhancing professional knowledge and skill of the students in dealing with beaten tracks of life. The Department also wish to transmit core values and principles of human society to the next generation of rejuvenated students bubbling over with splendid activities of not-for-profit motive simply not only within the academic community but also in the context of today’s global society mixing with most glamorous, exciting, vibrant life. The Department also wishes to disseminate knowledge among students spearheaded with promoting productive zeal and citizenry.
The Department is also optimistic to cater specified knowledge resultant from inter disciplinary courses keeping pace with the new developments in the age of global world and ensure the dignity of teacher-taught relationship in spite of hard core realities of non-reverence.
