Department of Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology was established in 2018 under Vidyasagar University. Anthropology is a multidisciplinary subject related to different Arts and Science subjects. The Department currently offers Anthropology as General subject to the students of Geography, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Electronics, and other Honours Subjects. The department is well equipped with a laboratory having prehistoric and anatomical specimens, a vast collection of e-books and ethnographic films that are stored in a computer exclusively dedicated to the students. Central library is rich with a good number of advanced books for Anthropology Honours as well as General Anthropology. A student with Anthropology background may join in different National and International development and activist organizations, media, heritage management institutions and domains of public health and criminology apart from the regular jobs in Colleges and Universities.
